Karachi: In the second T20 match of the series, Pakistan defeated England by 10 wickets while achieving the target of 200 runs, captain Babar Azam scored the second century of his career.
Pakistani openers Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan made a record partnership of 203 runs, captain Babar Azam scored 110 runs and wicketkeeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan remained unbeaten with 88 runs. The openers of the national team dominated the English bowlers from the beginning of the match.
Pakistan has won by 10 wickets for the second time in T20. Earlier, Pakistan defeated India by 10 wickets in the 2021 T20 World Cup.
Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan have broken their own record of partnership in the second innings of T20. Captain Babar Azam also completed his 8000 runs in 218 T20 innings while Chris Gayle of West Indies did this feat in 213 innings.
Batting first, England scored 199 runs for the loss of five wickets in the allotted overs, captain Moeen Ali played an aggressive innings and remained unbeaten with 55 runs.
The English openers scored 42 runs in the first wicket partnership after which national team fast bowler Shahnawaz Dhani dismissed two players one after the other, but the fast bowler failed to complete the hat-trick of wickets. Alex Hales was out for 26 runs and David Mullan was out for zero.
The third out was Phil Salt who scored 30 runs while Mohammad Nawaz took the wicket of Ben Duckett, scoring 43 runs off 22 balls. Harry Brock scored 31 runs and was dismissed by Haris Rauf. Fast bowler Mohammad Hasnain gave 51 runs in 4 overs while he could not get any wicket.
