Kabul: The bodies of 16 people were found in a mass grave in Afghanistan’s Kandahar province.
According to Tolo News, Bilal Karimi, Deputy Spokesperson of Emirate of Islamia, said that the grave site and human remains are from eight years ago and the investigation is ongoing.
The video shows residents of Aspenboldak removing sixteen bodies.
Karimi said residents of Aspenboldak in Kandahar discovered the grave when they were digging a well. The tomb dates back eight years, when the former regime was in power. Our investigation in this regard is ongoing. The families of the victims of the last 20 years demanded justice.
Abdul Rahim, brother of the victim, said that we want justice. The perpetrators of such crimes should be held accountable.
“We call on the Islamic Emirate and the international community to impartially investigate war crimes and hold the perpetrators accountable,” said a resident of Uruzgan.
