The United Nations Security Council has expressed its concern over the restrictions on women in Afghanistan and has demanded the Taliban government to change its policies.
In a statement issued by the United Nations Security Council, it has been said that the restrictions on women are contrary to the expectations of the international community, that women and girls in Afghanistan should be given equal and meaningful representation.
The statement demanded that schools in Afghanistan should be opened, the new policy and measures withdrawn.
The Security Council says these policies are an obstacle to respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms, and is also concerned about the prohibition of women working for NGOs.
United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said that restrictions on women and girls are unjustified and must be ended.
It should be noted that in Afghanistan, the Taliban has banned women from working for NGOs, while the doors of universities and schools for girls were also closed.
