Washington: Spokesperson of the US Department of State, Ned Price, has said that Pakistan is a close security partner of the US, and Pakistan will do what is in its personal interest.
While giving a press briefing in Washington, Ned Price said that it is Pakistan’s right to defend itself, the terrorist groups in Pakistan-Afghan border and in Afghanistan took the lives of Pakistanis, the people of Pakistan suffered huge losses due to terrorist attacks.
He said that it is in the common interest of Pakistan and the US that the Taliban fulfill their promises, that the Taliban ensure that the security of the region is not threatened by ISIS, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Al-Qaeda.
Ned Price said that Ayman al-Zawahiri was in Afghanistan, we took action against him, we will take unilateral action if needed to deal with the threat, we cannot give an opinion on what kind of action Pakistan can take.
US State Department spokesman Ned Price said that cross-border violence has resulted in many casualties, and that terrorist groups, including the TTP, condemn violence.
