Kathmandu: Famous American mountaineer Hilary Nelson has gone missing after falling into a deep ravine while returning from the summit of the world’s eighth highest peak in Nepal.

According to foreign media, athlete and American mountaineer Hilary Nelson along with her husband Jim Morrison climbed the eighth highest peak in the world ‘Mont Manaslo’ on Monday.

According to foreign media, on the same day, other mountaineers had also left to climb this peak, unfortunately, one person was killed and more than a dozen were injured due to an avalanche.

According to climbers on the expedition, Nelson crashed 15 minutes after reaching the summit and appeared to fall into a 2,000-foot (600 m) gap in slippery snow, known as a crevasse.

According to reports, Nelson’s husband Morrison managed to return to the camp safely after the incident, rescue officials said that due to bad weather, search operations cannot be carried out at this time.
