The President of the South American country of Chile, Gabriel Borque, has said that Chile intends to open its embassy in the Palestinian territory.
Speaking at an event in Santiago, Gabriel Bourque said, “I am taking a risk when I say that we are going to open a regular embassy after our representative office in Palestine.”
Gabriel Bourque did not say anything about the location or date for the opening of the embassy, but after this announcement, Chile will become the first country in the Andean countries to open its embassy in the Palestinian territories, which is declared by Israel to be annexed.
According to foreign media, Chile’s Foreign Minister Antonia Arrijula confirmed the plan to open an embassy in Palestine and said that currently no timeline has been decided for the opening of the embassy, however, Chile recognizes both Israel and Palestine as legitimate countries. .
Leftist Chilean President Gabriel Borque has previously openly supported the Palestinian demand for a separate and independent state.
