China: Chinese securities financing in science and technology innovation

Beijing: China’s securities have played a constructive role by providing capital in the promotion of science and technology innovation in enterprises.

According to a report by the Securities Association of China, the number of initial public offerings (IPOs) on China’s Nasdaq-style Science and Technology Innovation Board (also known as the Star Market on the Shanghai Stock Exchange) and Shen Zhen The technology-heavy ChiNext market on the stock exchange accounted for 75.68 percent of the total IPOs in the country during 2021.

The 165 companies listed in the Special Science and Technology Innovation Board raised about 211.6 billion yuan (about 29.8 billion US dollars) from IPOs last year, which is 35.51 percent of China’s total IPO funds raised throughout the year.

In 2021, the amount raised from 199 ChiNext IPOs was 149.4 billion yuan, accounting for 25.07 percent of the total.

According to the report, last year 481 companies approached the public locally and collected 592.62 billion yuan.
