China: Fu Zhenghua, a former senior Chinese official, was sentenced to death with two years suspended on Thursday for taking bribes, relaxing the law for personal gain and embezzling more than 117 million yuan ( 1 crore 67 lakh 60 thousand US dollars) was accused of receiving bribe.
The Intermediate People’s Court of Zhangchun, in China’s northeastern Jilin province, ruled that Fuzheng Hua, the former vice chairman of the Social and Legal Affairs Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, had forfeited the powers of his various positions between 2005 and 2021.
