The number of cases of Covid-19 in China has increased rapidly while 2 more people died as a result of the disease.
Earlier on November 20, an 87-year-old man suffering from corona virus lost his life in Beijing, which was the first death from covid after May 2022.
Also on November 21, 2 more patients died of Covid-19 in Beijing.
According to China National Health Commission, an 81-year-old woman and an 88-year-old man died from the disease.
The commission said that both were diagnosed with moderate severity of Covid symptoms but were suffering from different diseases.
In China, the number of cases has increased significantly in recent weeks due to new strains of the coronavirus that are spreading more rapidly.
More than 20,000 cases are being reported daily since the last 5 days due to which lockdown has been imposed in different states.
More than 27 thousand new cases were confirmed on November 21 by the National Health Commission.
900 cases were reported in Beijing and more than 8 thousand in Guangzhou.
Schools in several districts of Beijing have been closed following the surge in cases, with more stringent restrictions likely to be imposed.
