Damascus: According to Syrian official media, 18 soldiers were killed and 27 wounded in a bomb blast on a military bus near Damascus.
The official SANA news agency quoted a military source as saying that a military bus was targeted in the countryside of Damascus with explosives already planted in it.
On the other hand, the British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that the explosion took place near the rural area of Damascus, on the highway leading to Beirut, the Lebanese capital. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack, and no comment from Syrian officials.
