Delhi Municipal Assembly: Defeated Modi's party turned the assembly into an fighting ground

New Delhi: Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) tried to prevent the Aam Aadmi Party’s mayoral election by hooliganism in the first meeting after its defeat in the Delhi Municipal Elections.

According to the Indian media, the first meeting of Delhi Municipal proved to be a riot. Bharatiya Janata Party councilors rioted and threw chairs at Aam Aadmi councillors.

At the beginning of the meeting, the councilors of the Bharatiya Janata Party, which suffered defeat in the local body elections in Delhi for the first time in fifteen years, showed aggression.

In response, the councilors of the Aam Aadmi Party also shouted slogans and the matter escalated into hand-to-hand combat. The members pushed each other and got into a fight.

Due to this uproar, the Speaker announced the suspension of the meeting without electing the Mayor. Thus, the Modi government succeeded in its nefarious purposes and took some more time to manipulate.

The Aam Aadmi Party also protested against the governor not taking his party into confidence in the nomination of the Speaker and 10 MCD members to conduct the oath-taking session of the Assembly.

The Aam Aadmi Party leader said that the Governor should have consulted our party to nominate 10 MCD members as the ruling party of Delhi is also an Aam Aadmi Party.
