The case of hashish recovery from the Egyptian actress Mina Shalabi was sent to the criminal court.
According to a statement issued by Egypt’s public prosecutor, Mina was released on bail in November of last year for 50,000 Egyptian pounds.
She had arrived at Cairo International Airport from New York on November 25 when customs officials seized different types of marijuana from her luggage.
The prosecution said in its statement that Mina was shown all the evidence against her, including the statements of five eyewitnesses, CCTV footage and forensic chemical report of the recovered items.
All the five eyewitnesses are employees of the airport, who said that after placing the bags in the X-ray machine, they found that the lowermost parts of the suitcases contained marijuana.
According to the local media, Mina had denied the allegation of hashish recovery by the customs officials.
