FIFA World Cup: After the victory against Wales, Iran released more than 700 prisoners

Doha: Iran has released more than 700 prisoners after a 2-0 victory over Wales in the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

According to foreign media reports, it was announced on the online portal of Iran’s Judiciary, Meezan, that more than 700 prisoners imprisoned in various prisons of the country were released after Iran’s spectacular victory over Wales in the World Cup on Friday.

According to reports, some of the prisoners released include those arrested in recent protests in Iran.

Apart from this, no further information has been shared by Iranian authorities.

It should be noted that Iran defeated Wales after a sensational match in Group B of the Football World Cup on Friday.

Iran has played two matches so far, out of which they have lost one and won one, they are second with 3 points while England are first. Two teams from each group will qualify for the next round.
