Doha: In the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Qatar, from Group C, Argentina and Poland made it to the pre-quarter finals.
In the first match of Group C, Argentina defeated Poland by 0.2. Alistair scored the first goal for Argentina in the 47th minute, after which Alvarez scored the second goal to give the team a 2-0 lead.
Argentina qualified for the knockout stage of the World Cup after defeating Poland.
In the second match of Group C, Mexico defeated Saudi Arabia by two goals to one. Despite the victory, Mexico failed to reach the round of 16, while Saudi Arabia’s journey in the mega event also ended.
At the end of the group matches, Argentina finished first in Group C with 6 points while Poland and Mexico finished second and third with 4 and 4 points respectively.
