FIFA World Cup: Messi sets a unique record

Doha: In the ongoing football world cup in Qatar, Argentina’s star footballer Lionel Messi has achieved a unique record.

Saudi Arabia pulled off a big upset in the Football World Cup on Tuesday by defeating Argentina 1-2 after a sensational match.

The Saudi team ranked 51st in the world ranking of FIFA defeated the world number 3 Argentina by 1 goal against 2 in the World Cup.

In the match played in the city of Lusail, Qatar, star footballer Lionel Messi scored a penalty in the 10th minute on behalf of the 2-time world champion Argentina. Saleh Shahiri scored the goal in the 48th minute on behalf of Saudi Arabia. He scored the second goal in the 10th minute to give the team the lead which was maintained until the end of the match.

Argentina lost in this match, but in it the captain of Argentina also crossed a milestone. Messi became the first player to score 4 goals in the World Cup for Argentina.

Messi scored goals for Argentina in 2014, 2006, 2018 and 2022.

On the other hand, Saudi Arabia also claimed an important honor in this match. According to the Arab media, Saudi Arabia is the first Arab and Asian country to beat Argentina in the World Cup.
