Flood emergency imposed in Swat and Charsadda

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Relief Department has imposed flood emergency in Swat and Charsadda.

According to Antamiya, flood water has entered the houses in many places of Swat, including the historic mosque of Kalam, in addition to this, the road between Bahrain and Madin in Swat has been washed away in a flood lane due to which the road has been closed for traffic.

According to the spokesperson Motorway Police, the Swat Expressway has been partially closed at Pillai due to landslides. Traffic coming from Islamabad, Peshawar is being diverted through Ply Interchange and traffic coming from Swat was blocked at Chakdra.

According to the district administration, the flood barrier of the Swat river will reach Manda Hadorix in the afternoon, where the discharge of water in Swat river may exceed 200,000 cusecs.

On the other hand, measures have been taken to prevent flood damage in Charsadda, announcements are being made to move people to safe places, flood water has started entering the low-lying areas, which has submerged 500 houses in Shahi Qalali area.

According to the Deputy Commissioner, a flood emergency has been imposed in Charsadda and government schools in 5 union councils have been evacuated to accommodate the flood victims.
