Tallahassee: Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has joined the race to become the Republican candidate in the presidential election.
Forty-four-year-old De Santis announced his candidacy for the presidential election on the social networking site, but his connection with Twitter chief Elon Musk was cut off several times during online conversations, making it impossible for people to understand that he was running for president. De Santis is the second term governor of Florida and his policies have been far right, De Santis is considered a younger version of Donald Trump.
DeSantis also changed state law to allow him to run for president without resigning as governor.
De Santis will now compete for the party ticket with Donald Trump, Nikki Haley, Tim Scott, Vivek Ramaswamy and Arkansas Governor Asa.
The winner of all of them will face Joe Biden in November of next year.
