Manchester: Manchester United’s famous footballer Mason Greenwood has been re-arrested on charges of rape, forced behavior control and assault.
According to media reports, Mason was previously arrested in the month of January on allegations made in pictures and videos released online, and later arrested again for allegedly violating his bail.
Mason has now been ordered to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court on Monday, according to the prosecutor, who is facing allegations made by the female applicant.
According to the prosecutor, the alleged rape incident took place on October 22, 2021, while the alleged assault incident is said to be last December.
He said that the charge of rape has been laid by the expert rape prosecutor after examining the evidence provided by the police.
Mason has not attended a single Manchester United match or practice session since his arrest, while leading brand Nike has also ended its sponsorship deal with him for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
