Vatican City: Former Pope of the Catholic Church,Jorge Mario Bergoglio, died at the age of 95 in the Vatican.
The former head of the Catholic Church, 95-year-old Benny Duct, was seriously ill for the past few days. A few days ago, Pope Francis asked for prayers for the recovery of Jorge Mario Bergoglio.
Jorge Mario Bergoglio headed the Catholic Church from 2005 until 2013, when he stepped down due to ill health, the first pope to resign in 600 years.
The Vatican said in a statement that the body of the former pope will be kept in St. Peter’s Basilica from January 2, where people will be able to visit him, and on January 5, Pope Francis will perform his last rites in St. Peter’s Square.
