Uttar Pradesh: A tractor-trolley bringing back Hindu pilgrims plunged into a pond while taking a dangerous bend, killing 27 and injuring 22.
According to Indian media, more than 50 Hindu pilgrims were returning home on a tractor trolley from the annual festival of Chandrika Devi in the Kanpur city of Uttar Pradesh state.
The tractor trolley took a dangerous turn and went out of control of the driver and fell into the pond. The pond was so deep that 27 people drowned in it.
The rescue team has shifted 22 injured people to the hospital where 5 injured have been admitted to the intensive care ward. There is a fear of increase in casualties.
It should be noted that the tractor trolley is not a passenger vehicle but it is used as a cargo carrier for goods and other things.
