Palestine: At least 21 people, including seven children, were burnt to death in the densely populated Gaza area of Palestine, and many were injured.
According to foreign media reports, the fire broke out in a building in the Jabalia camp on the residential strip of Gaza, which engulfed other buildings as well, but due to the intense Israeli siege, the fire could not be controlled in time.
Israel’s prolonged siege has been blamed for the high casualties because fire brigade teams could not reach the scene in time from other areas of occupied Palestine.
The Gaza Civil Defense Unit says that the total number of people who died from the fire has reached 21, while several people have been injured by the fire.
According to Saleh Abu Leyla, the administrative head of a local hospital set up by Indonesia, at least seven children were among the charred bodies arriving.

The President of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas, taking notice of the incident, has issued instructions to the authority to send medical and other assistance to the victims immediately.
President Mahmoud Abbas has called on the Israeli authorities to end the siege of Gaza in order to save the victims of the fire incident. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas expressed his condolences to the families of those who died and announced a one-day mourning on Friday.
Hamas has said that an investigation into the matter has been launched to find out the cause of the fire.
