MUMBAI: 12 people were killed and 38 others were injured when a private bus caught fire after it collided with a trailer loaded with diesel in Nashik district, 166 km from Mumbai, on Saturday morning.
Amol Tambe, Deputy Commissioner of Police of Nashik district in the western state of Maharashtra, India, said that the bus was a sleeper coach, most of the dead were passengers of the bus, the injured have been shifted to the hospital for treatment.
The accident happened at 5:15 am local time after which the police and ambulance were called to the accident site.
