New Delhi: India is in the final stages of purchasing armed high-flying drones from the US.
According to a Wall Street Journal report, India is buying these drones to use them during conflicts on the Himalayan borders with China.
The US’s advanced MQ9B drones are armed with anti-submarine warfare capabilities.
These drones are also used for defense against land and anti-ship missile attacks.
Through them, India can increase its reconnaissance activities in the Indian Ocean as China increases its presence there.
The decision-making process for the procurement of the drones is underway in New Delhi, with the approval expected to be given in the next few weeks.
