India: Leopards who killed 4 farmers moved to zoo as punishment

New Delhi: A leopard that killed 4 people in the district of Lakhimpur Kheri in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh has been sent to a zoo as punishment.

According to the Indian media, it has been told by the officials of the forest department that yesterday all the arrangements to transfer the 8-year-old leopard from Lakhimpur Kheri to Kanpur zoo were completed.

According to the authorities, the leopard killed 4 farmers from August 23 to November 20 in Gola tehsil of Lakhimpur Kheri.

According to Indian media, after more than two months of hard work, wildlife officials managed to capture the leopard and it was decided to transfer it to a zoo to avoid further loss of life.
