New Delhi: In the Indian state of Punjab, an army officer shot and killed his wife at home and then committed suicide himself.

According to Indian media, the team that arrived on hearing the sound of gunshots from Punjab House saw two bodies with bullet marks on them.
The dead bodies were identified as Lt. Col. Nishant and his wife Dimple. A handwritten letter of an army officer was also found near the dead bodies.
The lieutenant colonel wrote in the suicide note that he killed his wife as a result of a quarrel and he is also ending his life by shooting himself.
Relatives of the army officer who committed suicide said that there was domestic violence between the husband and wife and were also undergoing counseling for days.
The dead bodies were shifted to the military hospital for post-mortem.
