Indigenous light combat helicopters inducted into the Indian Air Force

New Delhi: India’s first batch of indigenous light combat helicopters has been inducted into the Air Force (IAF).

According to the news organizations, the officials say that the joining ceremony of the helicopters was held on Monday at the Air Force Station Jodhpur in the western state of Rajasthan, in which Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh also participated.

Designed primarily for high-altitude deployment, light combat helicopters are capable of firing multiple types of missiles and other weapons.

Rajnath Singh revealed that the helicopter has been named Prachand which means wrathful. Officials said the light combat helicopter equipped with stealth features is the world’s first attack helicopter with a substantial load of weapons and fuel. It can land and take off at a height of 5 thousand meters.
