- London: Amnesty International has claimed that around 2 dozen children have also died during protests in Iran last month. Some of the children who died in the crackdown by the security forces are as young as 11 years old.
According to media reports, Amnesty International has said in its report that 23 children were killed by security forces in Iran in the last 10 days of September, 20 boys and 3 girls were among the dead. Mehsa Amini was arrested on September 13 for violating the law on wearing a headscarf. The arrested Mehsa Amini died on September 16 of an alleged heart attack.
Protests continue in Iran against the death of a woman in custody, according to the Iranian Human Rights Group, more than 180 people have been killed in the crackdown by Iranian security forces against protesters.
