Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei appointed the country’s new National Police Chief.
He has appointed Ahmed Raza Radan as the National Police Chief of Iran. Earlier Hussain Ishtri was appointed to this post.
It should be noted that the decision of the supreme leader is the final word in the major state policies of Iran, he is also the commander-in-chief of the armed forces of the country.
Ayatollah Khamenei has ordered the police department to improve its capabilities and train special forces for different security sectors.
The new police chief, Ahmad Raza, was the deputy police chief from 2008 to 2014, after which he headed the Center for Strategic Studies.
Police Chief Ahmed Raza was sanctioned by the US in 2010. Later, the European Union also imposed sanctions on them on the charges of human rights violations.
