Iranian player participating in world chess tournament without hijab in protest

Iranian female player Sara Khadim participated in an international chess competition without wearing hijab and recorded her protest against the government policy.

According to foreign media reports, Iranian chess player Sara Khadim participated in a chess tournament in Kazakhstan without a hijab in protest.

Iranian government policy obliges women to adopt a specific dress code, some Iranian female athletes have previously recorded their protest against the government by not wearing hijab.

It should be noted that Mehsa Amini, who was under police custody in Iran, died of a heart attack on 16 September. 22-year-old Mahsa Amini was detained in Tehran for not wearing a headscarf.

After the death of Mahsa Amini, protests are continuing in different cities of Iran, the protesters demand that the hijab be banned and violence and discrimination against women be ended.

Athletes from different fields are supporting the anti-government demonstration in Iran, before the house of Iranian climber Alnaz Rakkabi, who participated in the world competition without a hijab, was demolished in Iran.

Iranian mountaineer Alnaz Rakkabi participated in the world mountaineering competition in South Korea in October this year without hijab.
