It is premature to compare Babar Azam with Virat Kohli, Wasim Akram

Dubai: Former Pakistan captain and fast bowler Wasim Akram says that Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam’s batting technique is very good, but even so, it would be premature to compare him with Indian batsman Virat Kohli.

Wasim Akram while talking to former Indian team coach Ravi Shastri in a program of Star Sports said regarding Babar Azam and Virat Kohli that Babar is on the right track to become Virat Kohli but now comparing him with Virat Kohli. It will be premature.

Wasim Akram added about the Pakistani captain that Babar’s performance is consistent because his technique is correct. They are hungry for runs and are also quite fit. Keep in mind that the cricket teams of Pakistan and India will face each other in the Asia Cup on August 28. The last match between the two teams took place during the T20 World Cup last year.

Talking about the problems faced by Indian batsman Virat Kohli recently, Wasim Akram said that fans and media are criticizing Virat Kohli inappropriately on social media.

Praising Kohli, the Sultan of Swing added that he (Kohli) is not the greatest player of this era but of every era. He is fully fit and one of the best fielders in the Indian squad now.

He joked that hopefully he will not be in form against Pakistan but then he will be in form. Virat Kohli is going through the toughest phase of his career. It has been more than 1000 days since he scored a century due to which many hopes are being placed on him for the Asia Cup. Virat Kohli’s last century was in Kolkata Test against Bangladesh in 2019.
