Malta City: Two brothers have been sentenced to 40 and 40 years in prison for confessing to the murder of a 53-year-old female journalist from Malta.
Five years ago, journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia was killed in a car bombing.
The murder of the female journalist caused an international uproar. On the first day of the trial, Alfred and George initially denied the crime, but later admitted to the crime after being assured of a lesser sentence.
The court has sentenced the two brothers to 40 and 40 years in prison for confessing to the murder of a female journalist. After the trial is completed, both of them can be sentenced to life imprisonment.
The woman journalist’s son has welcomed the move, four people have so far confessed to the murder of the woman journalist, the fifth person is in jail who has denied the charges so far.
