Netherlands beat Zimbabwe by 5 wickets

Adelaide: In T20 World Cup, Netherlands defeated Zimbabwe by 5 wickets, after which both teams were out of T20 World Cup.

In the match being played in Adelaide, Zimbabwe won the toss and decided to bat which proved to be wrong, the entire team was bowled out for 117 runs in 19.2 overs. Sikandar Raza was the top scorer by scoring 40 runs. Opener Wesley Madhwere 1, captain Craig Irwin 3, Regis Chikabwa 5, Shaun Williams 28, Milton Shamba 2, Ryan Brill 2, Luke Jongwe 6 and Richard Ngarwa scored 9 runs.

For the Netherlands, Paul Van Meekeren was the most successful bowler with three wickets while Brandon Glover, Logan Van Beek and Bess de Lied took two wickets each.

As Netherlands chased down the target, they lost the valuable wicket of Steven Myburgh early on.

At this stage, Tom Cooper came to support Max O’Dowd and both of them put on a responsible game and put on a partnership of 73 runs to make the match one-sided.

Among the other players, Colin Ackerman scored 1, Bus de Ledde scored 8 and captain Scott Edwards scored 5 runs. Max O’Dowd played a responsible batting innings of 52 runs. The target of 118 runs was achieved.
