Islamabad: Earthquake tremors have been felt in various cities of the country.
Strong tremors of the earthquake were felt in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Parachinar, Hafizabad, Murree, Gilgit, Ghazar, Jhelum, Lucky Marwat, Nowshera, Dhirkot, Azad Kashmir.
Apart from Chakwal and its environs, Swat and Malakand Division, Bannu and Mansehra, earthquake tremors were felt in Pakpattan, Nankana Sahib, DG Khan and Rajanpur.
According to the US Geological Survey, the magnitude of the earthquake has been recorded at 5.5, while according to the Center for Seismology, the magnitude of the earthquake has been recorded as 5.8.
According to the seismological center, the depth of the earthquake was 173 km and the epicenter was in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan.
