Pakistan: Severe earthquake shocks in many cities

Karachi: Earthquake tremors of magnitude 6.8 were felt in different parts of the country including Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar. According to the Seismological Center, the epicenter of the earthquake was Afghanistan while the depth was recorded at 180 km.

The meteorological department says that the magnitude of the earthquake has been recorded at 6.8.

Earthquake tremors were felt in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, Balochistan.

Earthquake tremors were also felt in Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar and Quetta.

Earthquake shocks have been felt in Quetta and its surroundings, severe earthquake shocks have also been felt in Rawalpindi.

In Punjab, earthquake tremors were also felt in Lahore, Bahawalpur, Lodhran, Mianwali, Khanewal, Toba Tek Singh, DG Khan.

Earthquake tremors were also felt in Multan, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Sialkot, Mandi Bahauddin in Punjab.

Earthquake tremors were felt in various cities of Azad Kashmir including Muzaffarabad, Bagh Neelam.

Earthquake tremors were also felt in other cities including Swat, Nowshera, Mansehra, Khyber, Parachinar in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

A multi-storied building in Sector E-11 of Islamabad was affected by the tremors of the earthquake. Cracks appeared on the walls and residents rushed out of the flats.

The district administration team reached the spot to inspect the building.

Due to the strong tremors of the earthquake in the city, cracks appeared in many buildings. Several buildings in the popular commercial hub Commercial Market also suffered cracks.

7 injured have been brought to the District Headquarters Hospital Timargarh in Lower Dir. According to the police, most of the people were injured in the stampede during the earthquake.

The roof of a room near Jamrud Pump House collapsed due to the earthquake in Khyber district, but no one was injured.

Earthquake tremors were also felt in Turkmenistan, India, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan.
