Post-Ukraine war, energy prices rose, Norway made record revenues from oil and gas.
According to Statistics Norway, $140 billion was generated from oil and gas sales.
This is Norway’s biggest revenue ever, bringing in three times more revenue than in 2021.
It should be noted that in 2022, Russia reduced gas supplies to Europe, after which Norway became the continent’s largest gas supplier.
Because of this extraordinary income, Norway is accused of profiting from the war.
But Norway has pledged to give 7 billion 173 million dollars in the next 5 years to Ukraine.
The Norwegian government generates revenue through revenues from companies working on the country’s oil and gas reserves, in which the government also owns shares.
