New York: Russia vetoed the UN Security Council resolution against the annexation of 4 Ukrainian territories.
According to foreign media, the United States presented a resolution to the United Nations Security Council against Russia’s annexation of 4 regions of Ukraine, which was vetoed by Russia.
The resolution condemned Russia’s move and emphasized not to recognize changes in Ukraine’s borders. The resolution also asked Russia to withdraw from Ukraine by February 24.
10 out of 15 member countries of the Security Council voted in favor of the resolution while 4 countries remained absent. Among the absent countries were China, Brazil, India and Gabon. The Russian President had announced the annexation of the regions of Ukraine, Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhya.
