Saudi Arabia; Imam-e-Kaaba Sheikh Salih al-Talib was imprisoned for 10 years

Riyadh: The court of Saudi Arabia has sentenced the imam of the Kaaba, Sheikh Saleh Talib, to 10 years in prison.

According to Saudi media, in 2018, the Imam of the Kaaba, Sheikh Saleh Talib, was arrested for allegedly criticizing the policies of the royal family and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and now the local court has sentenced him to 10 years in prison.

It should be noted that when Imam Kaaba Salih Talib was detained, the reason was not given even at that time and no reason was given for the imprisonment by the court.
Saleh Talib has also served as a judge in Saudi courts.

Protesters against his arrest claimed that the arrest was carried out the day after he denounced the crown prince’s rule as absolute in a sermon to Imam Kaaba.

A few days ago, a Saudi social activist woman with a PhD was also sentenced to 30 years in prison by a local court, which is increasing the impression that strict action is being taken against those who criticize the royal family.
