RIYADH: The sale of alcohol will not be allowed at duty free shops at Saudi Arabian airports.
According to Saudi media, the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority has confirmed that the sale of alcohol will not be allowed at the duty-free shops opening at the country’s major airports.
The authority says that duty free shops will be allowed to sell only those products which are also allowed in the state and alcohol is prohibited in the country.
According to the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, duty free shops are located at King Abdulaziz International Airport Jeddah, King Khalid International Airport Riyadh, King Fahd International Airport Dammam and Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz Airport Madinah.
These duty-free shops have been directed to sell mostly locally manufactured items to promote domestic products more.
