Riyadh: Saudi Arabia has announced the lifting of the ban on the number of pilgrims.
Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabi said in a statement that the ban on the number of pilgrims for Hajj this year has been lifted. The ban on the number of Hajj pilgrims was imposed due to the corona epidemic.
The Minister of Hajj and Umrah also announced the removal of the age limit for Hajj, saying that there will be no upper or lower age limit for performing Hajj.
Last year, the Saudi government allowed 1 million pilgrims under the age of 65 to perform the Hajj to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. In the year 2019, 2.5 million people had the privilege of performing Hajj.
Hajj is performed every year between 8th and 12th of the Islamic month of Dhul-Hijj. This year, Hajj is expected to be held between June 26 and July 1.
