RIYADH: 21 universities in Saudi Arabia have achieved outstanding scores to make it to the latest global ranking list for 2023, which is a 40 percent increase compared to last year.
According to the official news agency SPA, Times Higher Education World University The ranking has been published annually since 2004.
There are 13 performance indicators that assess an academic institution in four areas including teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international expectations.
Six universities in the kingdom have appeared for the first time in the latest 2023 list. Seven improved their rankings while six maintained their previous rankings.
King Abdulaziz University of Saudi Arabia is now ranked 101st in the list of the best universities in the world, which was 190th in the ranking last year.
King Fahd University of Petroleum, King Saud University, Al-Faisal University, University of Hail, Imam Muhammad Bin Saud Islamic University, Jazan University, King Saud Bin Abdulaziz University Health Sciences, Al Jumja University, Amir Sattam Bin Abdulaziz University and Taif University are also included in the list.
In addition, Al Jouf University in Saudi Arabia has also secured a place in the Times World University Ranking 2023.
According to SPA, the Times World University Ranking 2023 has included Al Jouf University in the 800-601 global position.
According to the Saudi news agency SPA, the head of the university, Dr. Muhammad Al-Shaye, has said that this success is the result of the unlimited patronage of the education sector in the kingdom by the top leadership.
He said that the governor, education minister and all the officials of the university deserve congratulations for this achievement.
Dean of Science Research in the University, Dr. Nabil Al-Rawali, said that during the last two years, the University has performed significant services in the field of research. Thanks to this, the university has achieved a prominent position in the global ranking.
