MUMBAI: Shah Rukh Khan had valuable watches worth more than 18 lakhs in his luggage for which he had to pay 6 lakhs in customs duty.
According to an Indian media report, actor Shah Rukh Khan was allegedly stopped from leaving the airport last night by the customs department after some expensive watches were found in his luggage.
Before being allowed out of the airport, King Khan had to pay Rs 6.83 lakh as customs duty on these expensive watches, sources said.
The Bollywood star was returning after attending an event in Sharjah and landed at Terminal 3 of the Mumbai International Airport by private jet.

While Mr. Khan and his manager were allowed to leave the airport after paying the customs duty on the watches and completing the formalities, some members of his delegation, including his bodyguard, were detained overnight for questioning. Went and allowed to go in the morning.
It may be recalled that Mr Khan attended the Sharjah International Book Fair 2022 yesterday where he was awarded the Global Icon of Cinema and Cultural Narrative Award for his services to international cinema and culture.
