Football icon Pele’s frail mother, who hails from Brazil, is still unaware of her son’s death.
Last Thursday, the world’s greatest football player Pele died at the age of 82, the legendary footballer was suffering from bowel cancer.
According to foreign media reports, Pele’s 100-year-old mother still does not know that her son has died.
This was revealed by Maria Lucia do Nascimento, Pele’s sister, who says that her mother is lost in her own world as she gets older.
She said that when I mention my brother’s name, she opens her eyes, but when I tell her to pray for him, mother does not understand anything.
According to reports, the late Pele celebrated his mother’s 100th birthday last month, and he also posted some photos of his mother and himself on Instagram.
Known as the ‘King’ of football, Pele was the only player in history to win three World Cups in 1958, 1962 and 1970. Pele, who retired in 1977, was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2021, and the tumor was removed through surgery. But after the surgery he continued to be sick, even after that he was hospitalized more than once.
According to reports, at the end of November, Pele was admitted to the hospital due to illness and his illness could not be treated. On December 21, doctors said that Pele’s cancer had relapsed, so he needed more care, however, the hospital. A week after admission, he died.
