Washington: Following the announcement of new US sanctions on Iran targeting 10 entities and an oil tanker linked to Tehran, Congress has issued a statement urging the Biden administration to protest against the Iranian regime. Help the people practically.

A draft resolution in Congress described the killing of young Iranian woman Mehsa Amini as the latest example of brutal repression and behavior by the Iranian government.

Congress also emphasized that the United States stands with thousands of Iranian protesters in their struggle for freedom.

The text of the statement states that the Congress strongly and strongly condemns the brutality of the Iranian government against the people.

He said that US President Joe Biden’s administration should support the Iranian people not by words but by actions.

Meanwhile, the US Secretary of State emphasized that his country has taken steps to prevent the evasion of sanctions on the sale of Iranian oil.

The development comes after US officials announced that the new sanctions target entities that facilitate oil trade and will be part of a broader plan to tighten sanctions on Tehran in the coming weeks.

Notably, violent protests erupted outside Iranian embassies in Britain, France and Greece this week, condemning the killing of 22-year-old Mehsa Amini by Akhlaq police on September 16.

Tens of people have been killed so far during the violent protests that have been going on for the past week and a half in Iran.

The protest against the government that started after the killing of Mehsa Amini has now spread across the country and protests are ongoing in 46 major cities of the country.
