Kabul: The Taliban government in Afghanistan has allowed girls to continue their education up to the fifth grade.
According to the statement released by the Afghan Ministry of Education, instructions have been issued to open schools, madrasas and educational institutions for girls up to the fifth grade in Afghanistan.
The Taliban authorities imposed a ban on higher education for girls last month, after which primary schools for girls were also closed in several provinces. The ban on girls’ education was severely criticized by the international community.
