The wealth of the world’s 500 richest people decreased by 1400 billion dollars during 2022.
According to a report by Bloomberg, the names of Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Cheng Peng Zhao and Mark Zuckerberg are among the billionaires who lost the most wealth.
The wealth of these four fell by 392 billion dollars.
During 2022, Mark Zuckerberg lost a total of 65% while Elon Musk lost 51% of his wealth.
The global economy has been affected by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, record inflation and rising interest rates worldwide.
The wealth of the world’s richest people saw a record increase during the Covid pandemic, but a dramatic drop in 2022.
Elon Musk lost 132 billion dollars during one year while Jeff Bezos lost 85 billion dollars.
Mark Zuckerberg’s fortune fell by $79.9 billion and Canada’s Cheng Peng Zhao lost $89.3 billion.
However, India’s Gautam Adani’s assets increased the most this year and he is currently the world’s third richest person with $121 billion.
Similarly, Bernard Arnault of France managed to become the richest person in the world in 2022, pushing Elon Musk to the second position.
Bernard Arnault is currently the richest person in the world with $165 billion, followed by Elon Musk with $138 billion, Gautam Adani third with $121 billion, Bill Gates fourth with $110 billion, and $108 billion. Warren Buffett is at the 5th position.
