Turkish pop singer arrested for hate speech against religious school

Ankara: Turkey’s famous pop singer Gulsen was arrested for making a hateful joke about a religious school.

The pop singer’s fans termed the arrest as tragic and accused the government of targeting the pop singer for his liberal views.

According to details, in April this year, Gilsin told a joke in a live broadcast program, which started the controversy.
Turkey’s Minister of Justice has said that hatred towards an educational institution is an insult to art.

The arrest of the pop singer has drawn heavy criticism from the government from his political rivals and those associated with the country’s showbiz industry.
