Mumbai: Indian tennis star Sania Mirza, the wife of former captain Shoaib Malik, has told her retirement plan.
In an interview given to the website of the Women’s Tennis Association, Sania Mirza said that she will retire after the Dubai event next month.
She said, “I wanted to finish after the WTA finals, we were reaching the WTA finals, but I got injured.”
Sania Mirza said that I had to withdraw from all the events including the US Open, I am a woman who works according to her will.
The tennis star added, “I didn’t want an injury to end my career, so I continued to train. The plan is to try to play the WTA 1000 and retire in Dubai.”
It should be noted that Sania Mirza will participate in the doubles of the Australian Open with Anna Delina of Kazakhstan.
