Riyadh: Saudi Arabia has announced to allow women to perform Umrah without Muharram.
Saudi Arabia’s Minister for Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Tawfiq Al Rabia, said in a statement that the Muharram condition for women to perform Umrah has been removed and now women can perform Umrah without Muharram. He added that Umrah visa is required. No number has been fixed and people coming to Saudi Arabia on any type of visa from around the world can now perform Umrah.
The Minister for Hajj and Umrah said that he wants to reduce the expenses of Hajj and Umrah, but it depends on many other things. The cost of the Masjid al-Haram expansion project has exceeded 200 billion Saudi Riyals. This is the largest expansion project in the history of Masjid al-Haram, which is in progress.
Dr. Tawfiq further said that modern technology has been used and digitized to provide facilities to the pilgrims of the Haram Sharif, including the use of robots.
